Family, Friends and Art....

What a lovely day! We had such a great time today at our Artful Cross Class. With good friends and family (and of course, good food), we ventured into the studio for inspiration and instruction with wonderful conversation and laughter. This first photo shows a few of the crosses that were completed today...The following photo ( my sweet mom's--she is so talented!) is a cross with layering of another small wooden cross and altering embellishments to fit together. All are distinctive of their creator.

That thought gives me great joy as the Creator, God, made us all unique with a purpose only we have been designed to fulfill. As this Easter week is upon us, reflect on the life he has given us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. With Spring in the air, flowers blooming, trees coming out of winter's sleep, we see new life all around us. God chose this time of the year to display the most magnificent new life..... a new life born out of resurrection. Praise be to our God who is ever-faithful, ever- forgiving and ever-living!!

Remember that God is good all the time and his goodness is right, pure and holy. He pushes us forward toward his good works, even when we don't know what they are--He does. Trust him, move forward and take up a chisel and carve!

Saddle Up...It's Paper Cowgirl Time

Saddle up and take a horse, take a train, take a plane or a car...Come to Waxahachie, Texas for the Best Little Art Retreat in Texas. Join us for our 3rd annual Paper Cowgirl Altered Art Retreat, June 24th through the 26th. I am so honored to be a teacher for this event along with 11 other talented women. "Sayings for the Heart and Home" Inspirational Tag Book- Let inspiration come to you during this class where we will explore various techniques such as metal embossing, collage, gold leafing, faux finish and handmade flowers just to name a few. Also during this class we will be using alcohol inks, acrylic paints, perfect pearls, and many embellishing techniques. Each kit will be filled with tags, papers, ribbons, trinkets and treasures. Stamps, paints, inks and other mediums will also be supplied. Knowing our Cowgirls- Feel free to bring your trinkets and treasures. Tag, you're it!
