Delight in the day
Here is one of my favorite traditions when I'm on vacation-to create a "Delight" tag. This is the 4th year I have done this and it truly fun to see how each year is a little different. Different color. Different paint and texture. Always the same sentiment -delight... In the creative process, In the day, in the place you live, in the people you are with and for me to delight in the Lord. (Psalm 37:4)
Until next time, I hope you will take a moment to delight in the moment, right where you are and with those you are with.

From the sand and the shore - part 1
Here's a list of what you need...
Gather
Heavyweight paper pad
Paper towels
3 acrylic paints -varying shades in the same hue
White and/or black acrylic paint
Lumiere iradescent paints-choice of color
Stencil(s)
Art screens (Ann Butler Design) by ColorBox
Daubers/sponges
Plastic credit card or spreader
Paint palette
Make
1. Using plastic credit card or spreader, randomly apply medium shade of paint to paper to create a background with color.
* I keep the paper attached to the pad and slip a paper towel between the sheets. It gives stability to the piece of paper and protects my workspace.
2. Place stencil over painted area in a random fashion, moving after each time you apply paint.
Using the dauber, apply the varying shades over the selected area. Finish with white and or black to create bold areas and places of contrast.
3. When finished, flip to a new page and place the painted side of stencil down onto the paper and with paper towel, apply pressure over the stencil (See picture on the left). Lift off to reveal a new beginning of a background paper.
My papers are drying and will be ready for the next part in the paste paper journey.
Until next time, whether you have limitations right now or are limitless, I hope you'll find a little time to create with what you have, where you are and what you can do.
